Writing Task 1 and Writing Task 2 comprise the IELTS Academic Writing test. The questions on the Academic Writing test differ from the questions on the General Training Writing test.
While in Academic Writing Task 1, you will be shown an optical depiction of information, such as a graph, table, chart, or diagram, and you are tasked with summarizing, describing, or explaining the information you see, only letters will be assigned to GT students for task 1.
You will be given a point of view, argument, or problem to discuss in Academic Writing Task 2 on a range of topics. Your response to Academic Writing Task 2 must be written in the form of an essay. Both GT and Academic Writing Task 2 are written in the same style, and the scoring is the same.
