Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

In today’s society, it is undeniable that young people are increasingly idolizing media and sports stars. However, the question arises as to whether this trend is positive or negative. In my opinion, I believe it is a negative development.

Firstly, media and sports stars often do not set a good example for young people. They are frequently involved in scandals such as drug abuse, reckless behavior, and even criminal activities. By admiring these individuals despite their questionable actions, young people may be influenced to engage in similar behaviors themselves. This can have detrimental effects on their personal lives and future prospects.

Moreover, idolizing media and sports stars can lead to unrealistic expectations among young people. These celebrities often portray an idealized version of themselves through carefully curated social media posts or glamorous performances. As a result, impressionable youth may develop insecurities about their own appearance or abilities when they fail to meet these unattainable standards.

Furthermore, the obsession with media and sports stars can divert attention away from more important role models such as teachers, parents, or community leaders who possess valuable qualities like integrity, hard work ethic, and compassion. By fixating on celebrities who may lack these virtues but excel in superficial aspects like fame or physical prowess, young people risk neglecting the values that truly contribute to personal growth and success.

In conclusion, the admiration of media and sports stars
