10 JUNE 2023, IELTS EXAM, WRITING TASK 2, INDIA

These days, people do not go out for live performances or concerts, and they prefer to enjoy watching them on computers and laptops.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In today’s digital age, the way people consume live performances and concerts has drastically changed. While some argue that the preference for watching these events on computers and laptops is a positive development, I strongly disagree. There are several reasons why attending live performances in person is a far more enriching experience.

Firstly, being physically present at a concert or live performance allows individuals to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere and energy of the event. The excitement of being surrounded by fellow fans, feeling the vibrations of the music, and witnessing the raw talent of performers cannot be replicated through a screen. It creates a sense of unity and connection that simply cannot be achieved when watching from home.

Secondly, attending live performances provides an opportunity for personal growth and cultural enrichment. Experiencing different genres of music or artistic expressions can broaden one’s horizons and foster appreciation for diverse forms of creativity. Additionally, it allows individuals to support their favorite artists directly by purchasing merchandise or tickets, contributing to their success.

Lastly, attending live performances promotes social interaction and community engagement. Concerts provide an avenue for like-minded individuals to come together and share their passion for music or art. It creates an environment where friendships are formed, memories are made, and lifelong connections are established.

In conclusion, while technological advancements have made it convenient to enjoy concerts from home through computers and laptops, nothing can replace the unique experience of attending live performances in person. The ability to fully engage with the atmosphere, foster personal growth
